PlayStation 4 owners who want to play a physical version of Secret of Mana should rush to GameStop soon in order to secure their copy.
Square Enix announced recently that the game’s upcoming remake will get a limited quantity physical release. Additionally, only the PS4 version and not the PlayStation Vita will release exclusively at GameStop. EB Games in Canada will sell the game exclusively, while all Latin American retailers will carry the game. It is also currently unknown how physical owners will redeem the special character costumes. We’ve reached out to Square Enix for clarification.
Announced back in August of this year, Secret of Mana‘s world is getting a new coat of paint in 3D. Remastered cutscenes accompany the game, along with newly arranged musical score and voice acting. The gameplay is also changed to be more like a modern-day RPG. The PC and PS4 versions of the game, both digital and physical, will cost $39.99. The PlayStation Vita version is slightly cheaper, priced at $29.99.
EDIT: Square Enix has confirmed that only those who preorder the game’s retail version will get the special character costumes. The preorder receipt will have a download code for the in-game items. The offer is not available post-launch.
