“Double Dragon IV” Heads to Nintendo Switch

Japanese company Arc System Works announced today that they are bringing “Double Dragon IV” to Nintendo Switch worldwide on Sept 7.

The announcement appeared on their Japanese website today, detailing the different game modes that are unique to the Switch. They also mentioned that multiplayer is possible regardless of whether the unit is docked or not. The game will cost 800 yen or equivalent, presumably $6.99 in the US based on other versions.

“Double Dragon IV” was originally released on PlayStation 4 and Steam back in January of this year. Several of the staff since the original “Double Dragon” days were reunited to work on this new entry. And instead of coating the game with updated graphics, it was designed with retro graphics.

Aside from the game’s announcement. Arc System Works also unveiled the official website for the game. It serves as a crash course on how to play the game, complete with quick overviews of controls and techniques. A list of characters is also included, along with the hint that more characters are coming.
