Mega Man fans finally have something to look forward to after today’s Mega Man 30th Anniversary Livestream: the release of Mega Man 11 late next year.
The 30 year old iconic blue bomber is back with a hand-drawn redesign and a modern background. The familiar sidescrolling platforming action is still around along with various enemies and bosses. Mega Man can still absorb a robot master’s ability for himself as demonstrated on the trailer below:
More details will be shared around Summer 2018, while the game itself will release late next year. The game will be available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Capcom also revealed that Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 are releasing for the Switch on Spring 2018. These two collections will bring the entire numbered Mega Man entries to the console. Also new to these collections is the Rewind option, allowing players to rewind their gameplay correct their mistakes. This function will be available as a free update for existing owners on other consoles.
Not satisfied with bringing Mega Man 1-10 to modern systems, Capcom announced they are bring all of Mega Man X games to consoles and PC in Summer 2018. The eight games in the series introduced wall jumping in the gameplay, along with other changes. There is currently no word on whether the X games will also release as a collection or individually.
